Tovar among leaders in early-season competitions
Morningside College's 2020-21 Valorant campaign opened with a pair of 2-0 losses to Amarillo College of Texas' AC Badger squad Sept. 23 and Oct. 7.
Head coach Jared Amundson sees potential from the Mustangs in this venture. "It's a new team with a new game," he explained. "We have a lot to work on, but our players know our weaknesses are which is very valuable information."
"I think this season will show our team has a high ceiling, and we can hit our potential," he added. "I honestly believe (in them) enough for that."
Sebastian Tovar (Newell, Iowa) picked up Player of the Game honors in the second match-up with AC Badger. "(Sebastian) earned the accolade," Amundson said. "He was our best competitor throughout."
Morningside's Valorant team gets a third opportunity against AC Badger Wednesday, Oct. 7.
