Yasui drives in 4 in 10-run win over Warner

LAKE WALES, Fla. — Morningside scored early and often Thursday, defeating Warner (Fla.) 14-4 to continue its spring trip through Florida.
The Mustangs (10-8) scored in five different innings and used a five-run seventh inning to pull away from the Royals. Morningside finished with nine hits and took advantage of six Warner errors in the win.
Kade Yasui delivered one of the biggest early swings of the game in the second inning, ripping a double down the right-field line that drove in three runs and gave the Mustangs a 2-0 lead. Later in the inning, Jaxon Bunkers drew a bases-loaded walk to bring home another run and push the advantage to 3-0.
Luke Blackmon added a two-RBI double in the fifth inning, while Conner Maston and Michael Delzell each delivered RBI singles during a two-run sixth inning to extend the lead to 8-4.
The Mustangs then broke the game open in the seventh. Jacob O'Dell started the rally with an RBI single, while Delzell added another run-scoring hit. Yasui also drove in a run during the inning as Morningside plated five runs to stretch the margin to 13-4.
Delzell finished with two hits and two RBIs, while Yasui drove in a game-high four runs. O'Dell scored four times in the victory.
On the mound, Cade Nolan earned the win, allowing one unearned run on three hits in four innings while striking out six. Zach Neer worked three innings in relief before Reid Nagel closed the game in the eighth.
