Mustangs sweep final Tucson doubleheader
TUCSON, ARIZ. – As Morningside Baseball’s time in Arizona nears its close, the Mustangs are wasting no time getting games in, with a doubleheader against Dickinson State on the slate for today. The Mustangs swept the Blue Hawks in the pair of seven inning games, as the home team in a 3-2 win and as visitors in a 6-4 win.

TUCSON, ARIZ. – As Morningside Baseball's time in Arizona nears its close, the Mustangs are wasting no time getting games in, with a doubleheader against Dickinson State on the slate for today. The Mustangs swept the Blue Hawks in the pair of seven inning games, as the home team in a 3-2 win and as visitors in a 6-4 win.
Wade Canaday was rolling as he faced 27 batters in the seven inning outing, striking out eight, walking one, and giving up one earned run on five hits.
Jayson Willers accounted for all three RBIs in the day's opener, driving in Brian Garcia twice and Alex Calabrese once. Willers' two hits led the team, with Hunter Hope and Aiden Bishop each collecting hits. Ryan Kiolbassa added a sacrifice.
Morningside's bats heated up in the nightcap, with Cade Nolan driving in three runs, tallying two hits and a sacrifice fly. Garcia moved one run across, tattooing a triple and coming around to score himself. Hope had an RBI and two hits in three at bats, adding a walk to his total for the game.
Bishop was on the bump for six innings, giving up five hits, four earned runs, and striking out three of the 28 batters he faced. Calabrese picked up the save as he threw a scoreless final inning, walking one and striking out one.
