Bio
Morningside’s only three-time All-North Central Conference volleyball performer (1994-96), Theresa (Kathman) Trees led Morningside to an NCAA Division II regional appearance, and ended her career high on various statistical charts. Coached by Joan McDermott, the 1995 squad compiled a 27-9 overall mark, 12-6 in NCC play, and was ranked as high as 11th in the Division II rankings. The team qualified for post-season play before being eliminated by St. Cloud State.
Kathman-Trees is Morningside’s all-time leader in kills (1,831), and points (2205), and ranks third in digs (1,563), fifth in solo blocks (107), and eighth in block assists (299). She set a single season record with 522 kills during the 1996 season. She returned to her alma mater to serve as volleyball coach for five seasons, winning 75 games including a 27-9 mark in 2002.
