Bio
Jim Erwin grew up on a family farm in rural Concord, Nebraska, one of seven children, and learned a strong work ethic at an early age. He enlisted in the US Army, and served in the Korean War, playing basketball on a traveling military team. He earned a scholarship to Morningside when he returned to the United States. He helped lead the Maroons to a 14-9 overall record, and 7-5 mark in the North Central Conference, good for a second-place tie.
Erwin worked for the Parks and Recreation Department for the City of Sioux City, and later worked in sales while living in Spencer, Iowa.
