Bio
Depner was recruited to Morningside from Mechanicsburg, Penn. He became a standout defensive back for the Maroons. He led the team to a 5-6 overall record in 1981, the highest single season victory total in ten years, and during a stretch when Morningside football teams won just 11 games from 1972-1980. Named All-North Central Conference in 1980, and 1981, Depner holds the Morningside Division II school record for career interceptions with 15. He had a standout year in 1980 when he led the NCC in interceptions with four, and returned those picks for 124 yards, including one for a touchdown. In 1981, Depner recorded six interceptions. His 124 interception return yards ranks as the fifth highest in NCC history.
