Bio

The 6-foot-6 Palmer, Iowa, native transferred to Morningside from Nebraska-Omaha, and Iowa Central Community College, and was a major component of the best two basketball seasons in NCAA Division II school history. Along with fellow forward Steve Brandsma, Beneke formed a dynamic tandem that caused headaches for opponents, and led Morningside to a 26-6 record in 1983, and 22-9 in 1984 with Final Four, and Elite Eight appearances. Beneke was a two-time All-NCC selection, and tallied 907 points in 62 games for a 14.6 career scoring average.

He helped lead Morningside to a 1983 North Central Conference championship, the first in 32 years. He averaged 15.2 points per game during his senior season, and hit for 14.0 points per game in 1983.
