Bio
A shining star on an otherwise difficult stretch of football for Morningside during the twilight of the North Central Conference era, Mitch Allner stamped his name multiple times in the NCAA Division II section of the record books. A four-year starter at wide receiver, Allner set a Division II record for catching at least one pass in 44 consecutive games. He ended his career with 201 receptions for 2937 yards, and 26 touchdowns, all school DII records. As a junior, he caught 56 passes for 957 yards, and 11 touchdowns, all single season records.
The two-time All-NCC receiver was also a standout punt returner with several school records in that category as well. After graduation, Allner continued his football career at the arena level, competing for the Iowa Barnstomers, Quad City Steamrollers, and Tulsa Talons. While at Tulsa, he was named the 2002 Arena League Offensive Player of the Year with 128 receptions for 1,563 yards, and 35 touchdowns.
