Women battle into top 30, lead way at Midwest Collegiate Classic
ADDISON, ILL. – Freshman Rachel Spier (Sioux City, Iowa) and junior Katelin Hofmeister (South Sioux City, Neb.) topped individual performances for Morningside University Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 15-16.

Spier bowled her way into the first 35 of the Tier I tourney, compiling a 990 for 35th. Hofmeister also added her name to the best 50, placing 48th (972). Due to those outings, head coach Steve Gonshorowski's women's side wound up 26th overall and 13th on the B squad standings with an 8023. Sophomore Carissa Johnson (Hartford, S.D.) and junior Lexis Schroeder (LeMars, Iowa) rounded out the Mustangs' top four, as Johnson finished 88th (933) and Schroeder was 98th (925).
Morningside's men rolled a team 7976, putting them 65th standings-wise. Freshman Dylan Hamil (Rockford, Ill.) was their best-placing individual. His 943 was good for 158th. Nick Philthilath (Sioux Falls, S.D.), also a first-year, was next in line (895 – 201st).
Mside closes out its regular season Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 5 and 6, at the Coe College Invitational.
